seguindo na trilha da limpeza da bancada, chegou a vez deste pequeno. Não temos muitas fotos do início do trabalho. Mas, como vamos dar atenção para a África do Norte então haverá (pelo menos esperamos), uma boa sequência de kits sendo finalizados.
Um pequeno histórico desta viatura.
Durante o período compreendido entre as duas guerras mundiais, a Vickers-Armtrong construiu e desenvolveu uma série de tanques leves para o Exército Britânico e o MkVI foi o modelo final. Comparado com os modelos anteriores, a sua torreta foi aumentada para permitir uma guarnição de 3 homens e estendida na sua parte traseira para alojar um equipamento de rádio. Um motor de 88 HP (66KW) dava ao veículo uma velocidade máxima de 56 km/h (35 milhas/h). A sua suspensão do tipo Horstmann de molas helicoidais era considerado durável e confiável. Entretanto, o veículo era pequeno e as suas pequenas dimensões o tornavam instável em terrenos acidentados o que tornava difícil a precisão dos disparos de suas armas, enquanto estava em movimento.
O primeiro tanque MkVI foi construído em 1936 e sua produção encerrou em 1940 com aproximadamente 1.200 veículos produzidos em quatro diferentes versões. A versão MkVIb pesava 5.285kg (11.650 libras), a espessura da blindagem ficava entre 14mm e 4mm. O seu armamento consistia de uma metralhadora Vickers refrigerada à água, de calibre 7,7mm e outra de calibre .50 (12,7mm).
Quando teve início a Segunda Guerra Mundial este era o modelo mais numeroso disponível no inventário do Exército Britânico e participou de combates em muitas campanhas durante o período inicial, incluindo França, Norte da África, Grécia e Creta.
No final de 1940 as forças britânicas no Norte da África possuíam 200 destes tanques leves (a maioria eram do modelo MkVIb) junto com os tanques cruzadores e de infantaria. Desde o final de 1940 até o início de 1941 o MkVIb desempenhou um importante papel na campanha da África do Norte contra o exército italiano.

A brief history of this vehicle:
During the period between the two world wars, Vickers-Armstrong built and developed as series of light tanks for the British Army, and the MkVI was the final model. Compared to previous models, its turret was enlarged to allow for a crew of 3 men and extended at the rear to house a radio equipment. An 88 HP (66KW) engine gave the vehicle a top speed of 56 km/h (35 mph). Its Horstmann coil spring suspension was considered durable and reliable. however, the vehicle was small, and its small dimensions made it unstable on rough terrain, which made accurate firing of its weapons difficult while in motion.
The first MkVI tank was built in 1936 and its production ended in 1940 with approximately 1,200 vehicles produced in four different versions. The MkVIb version weighed 5,285 kg (11,650 lb), and it's armor thickness ranged from 14 mm to 4 mm. Its armament consisted of a 7.7 mm water-cooled Vickers machine gun and a 12.7 mm (.50 caliber) machine gun.
When World War II began, this was the most numerous model available in the British Army's inventory and participated in combat in many campaigns during the initial period, including France, North Africa, Greece, and Crete.
By the end of 1940, British forces in North Africa possessed 200 of these light tanks (mostly MkVIb models) along with cruiser and infantry tanks. From the end of 1940 to the beginning of 1941, the MkVIb played an important role in the north african campaign against the Italian Army.
